analysis

This song harbors obviously ripped samples by a couple of really well known songs. After the penguins decided to go for a dive, daft punk seems to be chopped into pieces and leave the listener thinking: uhm, what the hell is this? is this good? Do I like this? Where am I? Can I call this an original work? My answer would be: I dont know.

Technically:
I like the stereo in the song, great panning. It really adds to make the song sound wide. The song doesn't have big and massive sounds, but I guess that it does its job. Decent quality I'd say.

Musically:
The song doesn't really have a direction, or something that it tries to do in my opinion. It actually sounds quite random at certain places, although it never gets to the point were it really annoys me. I cant say that I really enjoyed listening to the song though, the song forces you to listen to it, the drums do put their effort out there, but when the listener is actually caught by the song, it doesn't really do anything. I heard the whole thing, but that was it. No emotion, no twiggle, no 'hey this was nice'.. My thoughts were as I described earlier: I haven't got a clue what to think about it.. And that's not really a good thing, since you'd much rather have me thinking: 'wow this is great'. It was an interesting experience, I dont think I've ever listened to something that resembled this style...

Does it fit with the picture:
the song is quite different yes. I dont get a smile on my face when I hear it though, so I guess it only captures half of the pictures original idea.

Fun chip ditty, which perhaps too much going on with the NNA's at times, and some sounds get washed out a little. Awesome leads for sure. Great and catchy all the way through... just that the chips could have been better. Man I wanna do a remix!.

What this song tries to do, in my opinion, is make you smile. I personally think it fits very much, thus. Besides, chipmusic is quite different when you compare it to the rest of the world, just like that mohawk-penguin in the picture. I normally write a 'technical' part in my review to give the author advice on mixing, but I guess that this would be strange considering the genre of this song. I quite liked the melodies in this song, so in the end you could say that this song is actually really good. ;)

na tarasie w letni dzien: Odd percussion, which almost sounds like penguins walking around! \o/. The melody is comical, and makes me think of penguins!. Not much musical content, but its enjoyable never the less!.

'Na tarasie w letni dzien' is a reasonable happy, easylistening or chillout song. The song moves slowly, creating a very harmonious background that is very pleasant to listen to.

Technically:
The song feels really cold. I know that the song is about penguins, but I still dont believe that this a good idea. Adding bass to your sounds would be a very good option enhance the warmth in your song, and thus creating much more feeling. The bassline that you have isn't very loud anyway, and you dont need it to be extremely clear in this style anyway. (the last thing compared to EDM, where you dont add bass for warmth for obvious reasons)

Musically:
Fairly happy, but not too happy. To happy would be annoying anyway. What I like about the song are the weird and original drums that the song has. I also like the fact that the song never really seeks to grab attention, which allows the song to be minimal and repetitive without being annoying or boring. I actually like the song pretty much. Good work :)

Does it fit with the picture?
Nah, I dont think so. I see a rebellion in the picture, one penguin just doesnt want to blend in with the others. This song is background music, and could be played by anyone, any time, anywhere, without being really disturbing. In fact, I guess I could find music like this in a CD-collection owned by persons who dont really care what they listen to. What does fit however, is the happy mood.. although I dont find that happy mood THAT present in the song.

A somewhat funky song, with 'real' guitars in it. It's tracked, so saying anything about technical issues would only make me look dumb. Keep the scene alive ;)

Musically:
Well, its funky, but it not the kind of funk that seeks to drive you out of your chair on the street dancing. The song also has a nice catch to it, but it's not that you'll keep humming the sax with the song is over. I actually like what partysan did in this song, although it isn't the best song in the world. The piano, guitar and sax work fine with the beat and bassline and create a nice groove. I'd say congratz to partysan for making this nice song :)

Does it fit with the picture?
I dont see a relation with the picture at all. Unless i'm completely mistaken here, but in my opinion the picture is about two things: 1. be different. and 2. put a smile on your face. Your song is funk, but that's not something that's completely different or something. I mean, LOADS of persons like funky music. I also dont see why this song should put a smile on my face.

This track is insane... its almost random :D. Kilon has made it sound 'epic' ish with the tympani and strings!. Insane leads, and whatnot. Fails to really hit the spot though. There is a nice idea at the end, with the pads, which should maybe be developed into something outside of the CTG compo. Best sound quality in this section

This song sounds as if it's written in 2 seconds. or less.

Technically:
First of all, the synths sound like presets. Maybe you edited them, maybe you didn't but they still sound like presets. Every synth that you hear is extremely fake. I hear no moving sounds, only static things. The violin for instance, doesn't use any velocity at all, and sounds as if it has the words 'computer' written all over it. The drums that enter halfway are a nice addition, and I really like those, but they are way to loud. I'm sure you can do better then this technically. Add lfo's to your sounds, work with velocity when required, and find yourself a decent violin. I think you're able to do that.

Musically:
Well, the main melody played by the violin is extremely simple. It sounds so obvious that it becomes annoying very quickly. The problem is that it pretty much keeps repeating itself and even when other sounds do play louder as it, it still keeps being annoying. Like I said before: I"m sure you can do better then this. Try to not use melodies that sound as obvious as this, try to suprise the listener, while not sounding completly random. After the violin stops, there is a second part in the song, which has absolutle no connection to the first part whatso ever. I dont really understand why this part is added, although I have to say that i do like it much more then first part.

Does it fit the picture:
well, the idea of the song fits with the picture. The problem is more that the song doesn't really builds on that idea, but just leaves it there to stand on its own.
